In partnership with Cynthia Mickens Ministries, Inc., the Leadership Southwest Class of 2024 is requesting your support.
On September 21, 2024, the Leadership Southwest Class of 2024 will embark on the program’s annual Community Service Project in partnership with Cynthia Mickens Ministries, Inc. To support this multi- city collaboration, the partnership is requesting that you sponsor their efforts to build a community garden and gathering place for the youth and senior citizens of Hutchins, Texas. The partnership needs volunteers the day of the event to build multiple garden beds, an outdoor kitchen/classroom area, and a gazebo; and to install benches at the location. The Leadership Class and Cynthia Mickens Ministries are also asking that you provide support by becoming a project sponsor to facilitate the purchase of supplies. Cynthia Mickens Ministries is a collection of programs and services that provide the tools and resources to help individuals live the life they were created to live. Specifically, these programs serve women, children, and single mothers in the Dallas County area through courses and coaching, a housing program, a free summer learning and feeding program for kids, and prayer. These programs and services provide encouragement and support that help individuals find purpose and reach self-sufficiency. Leadership Southwest is a cooperative effort sponsored by the Balch Springs, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, Glenn Heights and Inland Port Area Chambers of Commerce with a mission to promote and enhance leadership through education in civic and community affairs, and encourage volunteerism in Southwest Dallas County.
